2004 - In February 2004 I recieved an email from a gent overseas asking:
"Is there a listing of all QR section car numbers and what type they were?? what is scrapped? what has been preserved?? just curious."

This was the catalyst to do something and with valuable input from many people, at the end of 2004 a total of 184 enties had been made. Included in this are photos of cars "in service" from years gone by, which may or may not still exist in 2004. I've included them anyway (total being 4 or 5) so the number of QR section cars known to exist in 2004 is about 180.

However, there are still more cars out there, we saw some on private property under a tree amongst lantana on a recent meet - so expect more to be added in 2005.

2005 - Where are they now? The left hand side column contains links to a simple list of data of the section cars that are still known to exist. If you're lucky, there is also a photo.

I am pleased to acknowledge the strong support of Peter Burden an others who greatly assist in the ongoing update of the data / photos collected in this project. It is acknowledged this list will not contain all the information, but its a useful guide in any case.  All up there is now about 200 known to exist and the list continues to grow.

Data is for personal enjoyment only please and all photos (c) to their owner.

2006 - Contribution to this area of the website is tremendous.  In April 2006 the total number of cars known to
still exist is 211 ish
